WFW: Keep a Firm Grip!

april28_21 Hebrews: 10:22-25, The Message

Much as I focused on the “firm grip” part of this verse, today, I really like the beginning of this verse, where it says we should be confident that ‘presentable, inside & out’.

WFW (April 22)

wfw_earthday“And they were calling to one another:
       “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
       the whole earth is full of his glory.”
~ Isaiah 6:3

((In honor of EARTH DAY)). 😉

WFW (April 15)

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him, endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” ~ Hebrews 12: 1,2

I’m currently reading a book called “From Clutter to Clarity” by Nancy Twigg, and this is its “Clarity Principle” — the basis for what the book is talking about. This verse can apply to so many areas… that’s one of the things I love about the Bible. God uses all of it to get you right where you need you… He speaks to you right where you’re at. 😉

Word-Filled Wednesday (April 8)

“Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions.
Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your
everyday human concerns will be met.”
~ Matthew 6:33, The Message Bible

So often I forget that I need to put God first in my life… that I don’t need to worry about any little thing, because He has everything under His control. This verse is a great reminder of that — and I especially like how “The Message” version puts it… “Steep your life…!” 😉

Word Filled Wednesday: Psalm 103

Psalm 103 (NLT)…wfw-2008sm1

1 Let all that I am praise the LORD;
with my whole heart, I will praise His holy name.

2 Let all that I am praise the LORD,
may I never forget the good things He does for me.

3 He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases.

4 He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies.

5 He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
6 The LORD gives righteousness
and justice to all who are treated unfairly.

7 He revealed His character to Moses
and His deeds to the people of Israel.

8 The LORD is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.

9 He will not constantly accuse us,
nor remain angry forever.

10 He does not punish us for all our sins;
He does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.

11 For His unfailing love toward those who fear Him
is as great as the highest of heavens above the earth.

12 He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.
13 The LORD is like a father to His children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear Him
14 For He knows how weak we are,
He remembers that we are only dust.

15 Our days on earth are like grass;
like wildflowers, we bloom and die.

picture-11516 The wind blows, and we are gone ~
as though we had never been here.

17 But the love of the LORD remains forever
with those who fear Him.
His salvation extends to t he children’s children

18 of those who are faithful to His covenant,
of those who obey His commandments!

19 The LORD has made the heavens His throne;
from there He rules over everything.

20 Praise the LORD, you angels;
you mighty ones who carry out His plans,
listening for each of His commands.
21 Yes, praise the LORD, you armies of angels
who serve Him and do His will!

22 Praise the LORD, everything He has created,
everything in all His kingdom.
Let all that I am praise the LORD.

Right Motives

“The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked,
but He delights in the prayers of the upright.”

~ Proverbs 15:8

When we give of ourselves to the LORD, we need to remember that He sees our hearts. He knows what our inner (ulterior!) motives are. Nothing is hidden from Him.

Wednesdays In the Word #1

wordonwednesdays31I’m starting a new event, here at Heaven Rules, where every Wednesday I will post a Scripture ~ something that’s jumped out at me during the previous week.

I’m not sure if I’ll expand on that Scripture verse or not, but for now, here’s the first Wednesdays in the Word post! 😀

“…throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.”

~ Ephesians 4:22, 23

wfw-2008sm*** EDITED TO ADD: After posting this today, I stumbled across another Christian blog where they already do a Wednesdays-in-the-Word-type post… it’s called Word Filled Wednesdays! I had looked & looked, last week, for something like this, and when I couldn’t find anything, I created my own! But, now that I’ve found WFW, I’m just going to let go of my idea, and participate in the one that already exists! 😀 SO, next week this will be a Word-Filled Wednesday post, instead! 😉
